The View of Holne Chase & Buckland from the

trees above Holne Bridge- [Studily?]

not far from the road- almost opposite the Red Rock

with a [???] on it at the summit--- Some Birch

trees & the Hollies are very fine.

                                                    July 10th

The walk from Ashburton to Buckland by a

private road the the upper part of Buckland [Lit?]

[Papers?] by [???] rock a little below it. the views

very fine & the Dartmoor Torrs form fine [???] for

the Distances.- The Bridge & two Cottages in the

Village of Buckland is a very fine subject. The

Valley [???] which the River runs which divides

Spitchwick from Buckland, the view from Spitch

wick Common--- The light [???] partially

on the trunks of trees in Wood. Chequering them

with light & shade—The rocky [???] of the

rivers particularly by the Webber water -the [town?]

that divides Spitchwick from Buckland.

The plants are in great variety worthy the

attention of a Botanist- July 11 1819.

Went to [???] [???] [???] on the 9th of July in the Evening

& Saw from [there?] the River [???] A very full tide

must observe [???] from Teignmouth when next I go

there- the whole of the dart from dart meet Bridge

might be Explored with advantage- down the River.

The Junction of two Streams in the Valley, which divi-

ded Spitchwick from Buckland-

The [???] [???] on Dartmoor have the appearance of

age & are deserving notice & [inquiry?]
